The Chris Adams Band was cultivated out of Chris' desire to play the blues. Chris became involved in the local blues jam scene, and that is how he met keyboard player Beth Nickerson. They immediately realized they had a lot of musical ideas in common and decided to put together a band. Drummer Al Cavaliere was soon added to the line up. Chris, Beth and Al began rehearsals while they searched for a bass player and singer to fill out the line up. Jessica Bowers joined The Chris Adams Band as the featured vocalist. Soon after, bass player Andrew Linker rounded out the bottom end of the sound. Now complete with five members who share a love for performing music, styles that complement each other and a passion for playing, The Chris Adams Band is poised to explode onto the scene! They have completed their first 10 song CD and are ready to bring the music to you live!

I started playing guitar when I was 14 years old. My initial influences were hard rock bands of the Eighties. I soon discovered classic artists like Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin who's blues influenced sounds led me to the blues. My biggest discovery was Stevie Ray Vaughan who became a major inluence on my style. SRV also led me to other blues artists like BB King, Buddy Guy, Albert King, Freddie King and others. All through my development as a guitarist I played in hard rock bands but always approached my playing from a blues influenced point of view. It was the discovery of Joe Bonamassa that led me completely into the blues and it was then that I decided I wanted to play in a blues band. I began attending local blues jams and local blues band performances and started looking for the people I would need to put together a first rate band. I have found those people and I am very excited for what the future will bring for The Chris Adams Band!

As a small child, singing came naturally to me. By the age of ten, I was singing in choirs, and I began writing folk songs when I got my first guitar at age twelve. Throughout high school and college, I kept busy with choral and musical theatre projects and enjoyed brief local fame as a folk singer in College Park, MD. I have performed in several bands, including Northern Virginia's jazz trio 3 EZ Payments. My musical influences are as diverse as my experience, and the blues feels like a perfect fit.

I have had an intense love for music my entire life, but did not get involved with it heavily until buying my first guitar at the age of 20 while stationed in the US Navy. With nothing but time on my hands, I found myself many days and weekends playing until my fingers would nearly bleed. After a few years of "rock star" dreams, I read an ad at a local music store looking for other guitarist to jam with as a "hobby" and decided to try and make that dream a reality. That "hobby" soon led to my first band which had played in a few clubs around the Frederick area playing classic to hard rock. I had met Chris while our individual bands played at a local benefit. In 2010, I had the opportunity to play together with Chris in another band and was soon introduced to the Chris Adams Band, a group of superb performers who welcomed me like family! With all of our different backgrounds and influences, we are able to come together and create music from the soul, and I look forward to making wonderful music together and sharing that with you!
